Square Basket (Ifugao)

Black-brown, in the form of a square bottle, shoulder and neck beginning at a height of 26cm, with a round wooden lid (D : 9cm). The rectangular bottom of the basket is made as an open two-way mesh, parallel to the edge and binding to the canvas. The walls are made by twisting rattan strips around passive, vertical bars at intervals of up to 3.5 cm. The basket is carried on two multi-strand, knotted rattan ribbons, which are attached to the basket with eyelets at the top and bottom.
