Inventory number SA 34567
Bontoc gong made of bronze. Bontoc is played on gongs during rice rituals, especially during the growing and harvesting seasons. Gangsa is an instrument that is played by various ethnic groups in the Cordilleras. The instrument comes in different sizes and is tuned differently to match the preferred pitch when playing. Few men can still make this instrument today. Text: Prof. Dr. Leah E. Abayao, Cordillera Studies Center, UP Baguio.
