Hip scarf (Ifugao)

Blue and white striped skirt made of three panels (each 22 cm wide), which are made in a chain rib weave with blue and white warp threads and are sewn together at the long edges. The seams are embroidered with black and red wool, the skirt edges are edged with the same material and embroidered in a zigzag pattern. Shawls like this one are worn as skirts by women of all groups in the mountain province. Vanoverbergh reports on the various ways of carrying (1929: 186f)
