Baraja fan

Baraja fan. Rods: 16 rods + 2 guards (these are thicker), made of wood, trimmed (with gouache painted silk taffeta), openwork and engraved, with metallic inlays ("piqué" work). United by silk ribbon green and finished in waves at the top. Clavil riveted on a mother-of-pearl ferrule.

Face: the silk of the cartouches as windows decorated alternately: floral motifs, vases with flowers, scrolls with flowers ... in shades; yellow , orange, green ... in the guards application of trimmed bone.


According to M. Vollet this is Filipino. It is very similar to
CE17485 in the same collection.
