Ladle and Spoon - Female Figure

A woman carrying a water jar on her head was a popular motive for the ladle-spoon duplex. This one is an abstract piece of art almost: the arm reaches from the water jar, forming the spoon part, right down to touch the thigh of the figure. The ladles were used for liquids, such as water, wine, or soup. These utensils were carefully maintained and washed after each meal. (Sri Kuhnt-Saptodewo 2009:59)
