Maroon and cream shell plaid with white and red cotton appliqué bands (tutuc) decorated with yellow, blue and red embroidry ("panay" and blue, yellow and white beadwork. Laura also notes that "Bright, showy jacked of fine checked hemp, heavily beaded in blue, white, pink, and pale green beads, with an unusual predominance of blue; at back is a large figure of Nawa wife of Uda, the owner of the jacket" (From card catalogue notes by Laura Watson Benedict(1861–1932) and Lisa Whitall (1926-2019))
