Skirt Woman's, Panapisian

Maroon, natural, brownish-black stripes and warp design, 2 equal sized and patterned loom pieces joined at side selvages make tubular skirt. (The 2 loom pieces called "Bata" are usually used as a top and bottom border for skirt of 3 loom pieces. The central piece "inē" has been omitted in this case). Wp ends cut and sewn at seam. (From card catalogue notes by Laura Watson Benedict(1861–1932) and Lisa Whitall (1926-2019), 1905)
