Sample (Textiles)

Garment made up of long woven cotton strip in indigo with 4 red stripes in the weft, and towards each end a panel decorated with geometric patterns in supplementary weft in green, yellow, blue and red commercial yarn, with a further panel at each extreme end in a dense red pattern divided in two horizontally by a strip of yellow and green geometrically patterned supplementary weft. Around the patterned panels at each end strips of striped braid with a yellow edge have been sewn on, making the ends wider than than the main body of the garment. Acquired by Bourne Hall Museum from Vivian Price, Fitznells Music School.
