Betel Nut Box

Name: Magsagora - Small rectangular brass betel nut box. Top is cast in scroll design. No handles to attach to belt. Three compartments. | Notes: See notes on 128177. Has three compartments - the center, for leaves chewed with the betel nut; one for lime, and one for betel nut. These boxes came from the Moros of Lake Lanao and are secured in trade. Are worn at the side, fastened by a cord, chain, or belt. Used by men.
