Holy Family

Sculptural group made of ivory on a wooden base of Hispanic-Filipino origin. Representation of the Holy Family taking as its central axis the figure of the Child extending his arms towards the Virgin, on the right, and Saint Joseph on his left. The interest in this piece stems from its iconography, with few group compositions within Hispano-Filipino art. In general they are works worked with care. Its representation responds in the Counter-Reformation to what was called Terrestrial Trinity, represented in engravings of great diffusion.
