Kulintang (Brass Gong)

Brass gong: circular bronze object, straight sides, top has a small raised '’dome" in the center radiating from the dome are five etched petal-like patterns there is a cut around part of the ’dome" and on one part of the side are two holes through which a rope is attached to the front of gong. This gong is used as part of a kulintang ensemble, a type of instrument popular in southern Philippines. The kulintang is a musical instrument composed of a group of brass gongs laid horizontally and played with two wooden sticks.
