Register 1948: Bamboo sliver with incised characters. 20thC (early)
Curators comments:
Register 1948: From the Hanuno's of S. Mindoro, Phillipines. Collected by donor in 1947. Inscription in a chant known as 'Urukai'. The script, of Indic origin, forms a syllabary of about 50 characters, and is one of two surviving in the Phillipines. For transliteration by donor see Eth Doc 1696.
