Spoon with a standing pregnant woman. The authors locate this spoon type among the Kiangan of the Sapao valley (1). Eric Anderson believes that this particular spoon originates either from Dalican or Balaan (personal communication, 2009). (Sri Kuhnt-Saptodewo 2009:59 )

Spoons with a standing pregnant woman, wearing a hat of this shape, can occasionally be seen in illustrations. Such a figure is depicted in the Dresden collection and described as follows: "Female figure, holding apart the pudenda, as in several figures [ of] ancestor images" 1 (Meyer and Schadenberg 1890: 22; XVII, fig. 8).<br /><br />1 German original: "Weibliche Figur, die pudenda auseinander halcend, wie bei mehreren Figuren der Ahnenbilder" (Meyer and Schadenberg 1890: 22; XVIII Fig. 8).
