Cigar Pouch

Two cylindrical halves are inserted into each other, forming a sturdy and airy case. .This is the oldest of three cigar pouches in the Museum's collection (Hi.igel collection). Made from split strips of palm leaves is made from rough, rigid strips of leave or stem materials, dyed in yellow, red, and black. Approximately 240 interlaced elements add up to a maximum circumference of approximately 13 cm ( Barbara Ponighaus-Matuella and Sri Kuhnt-Saptodewo: 2009:50, 51).
