Kerchief

Headcloth (Kerchief). The cutwork appliqué work, known as sombrado technique, worked on this scarf is very specific to the Philippines. Giving the appearance of lace, it is very labor-intensive and highly detailed technique that involves stitching down the fragile cutwork onto the equally fragile pineapple cloth. Because of the degree of difficulty and time involved, it is used on high quality pineapple cloth accessories and garments.
