Curators comments:
Register says: "...Steven's catalogue says "these 'record' clothsare of excessive rarity as they are retained in the tribes as heirloomes. These are believed to be the first two specimens offered for sale in Europe." "; From acquisition notes "head hunter's loincloth". Register addition "Ifugao".; Such textiles were used in the rituals associated with headhunting.
