Panel made of Piña

Ground fabric: spaced tabby weave pina (pineapple fiber) cloth. Embroidery: cotton thread in padded satin, overcast and buttonhole stitches, flat long-and-short and stem stitches, and pulled fabric work oversewn with decorative fillings. The unfinished panel worked along two sides and for a short distance along the other two sides with a scalloped edge. Within each scallop is a leafy spray. Flanking one worked edge is a vertical motif of grasslike stems, leaves, and small flowers. Eight hollylike leaves. The scalloped edges have not been trimmed back to the embroidery.
