Textile; Blanket

Cotton blanket with a central panel made up of four equal sized cream coloured panels. Each has a dark blue stripe at each edge, and twill patterning, alternating with a blue lattice pattern, at the ends. The two outer panels have blue and red stripes with a supplementary geometric pattern interrupted in three instances by a motif of a human being. At each end is a narrow blue and red striped cloth with, alternately, two red and two cream bundles of thread regularly inserted into the selvedge, to form a decorative taselled edge. The textile has much staining. See also Anderson, Eric Moltzau. 2014. 'Corderilla Draping: textiles of northern Luzon, The Philippines.' Arts of Asia Vol. 44 no. 1 pp. 76-84.
