Bamboo container for rice seeds

Bamboo container that is enclosed by wicker made of rattan. With lid and braided handle. Some villages in Ifugao store their rice seeds in bamboo and rattan containers. Selected rice seeds were kept in containers and stored in the traditional house. Rice ears can be stored in the container. Different varieties of rice were stored like a seed bank system so that one could choose which variety to grow in particular fields depending on conditions and preferences during the growing season. Over time, the Ifugao have grown many varieties of rice. They observed the properties of each of these rice varieties, which was very important in traditional rice cultivation.
