Spear (Falfeg)

Inventory number: 042515
Metal-tipped spear with a barb and shaped like a fish's tail. The spear head was attached to the wooden shaft. A rattan ring wicker was used to reinforce the shaft where the square tongue will be secured. A cone-shaped iron cap was placed on the underside of the shaft to protect the spear when it was used as a stick by men who followed tracks. Possibly a falfeg from Bontoc. Text: Prof. Dr. Leah E.
