According to the librarian of the Watson Library of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Library. "These fashion plates come from a variety of fashion magazines between 1790-the 1950s, with no other information provided".

Among the gifts of theatrical designer Woodman Thompson is a
series of fashion plates documenting stylish dresses, regional costumes, and military uniforms from the eighteenth to the twentieth century.
