Ivory Sculpture ( Fragment)

Leg fragment that was part of a sculpture. It must have been part of a sculpture of the archangel San Miguel, although due to its small size it does not correspond to the group of fragments CE13400, CE13405 and CE13407 that made up part of an image of this dedication.

It is a colonial ivory, Hispanic-Filipino. A complete piece of this style is preserved in a private Mexican collection (ESTELLA MARCO, MM, Ivoires from the Far Eastern Provinces of Spain and Portugal, Monterrey, 1997, No. Cat. 39, pp. 96-99).
