Orientalizing taste resurfaced after 1830 thanks to the English trade. Although direct shipments from the Philippines to the Iberian Peninsula survived after the end of the Manila Galleon, British models made Cantonese merchandise uniform for the western market, the import of which continued to grow throughout the 19th century.
