Odd shell ear ornaments

Ornament, rectangular and curved segment of shell, iridescent on inner surface, perforated at one end, fiber cordage wrapped through perforation, circular brass ring attached, ring has pointed protrusions around outer edge, ring connects to a small white shell disc with central perforation.
